Obviously.
Only those who can answer this question will become rich.
Well, it’s not something “special” or some “DEEP” big SECRET though.
Honestly, it’s not that DEEP.
And It’s not money or anything materialistic like most people will have you believe.
It’s not opportunities even.
Or hard work (haha, please don’t make me choke on my drink).
I mean, some of our parents toiled the hardest but yet they didn’t exactly hit the jackpot.
So it’s definitely not that.
It’s not integrity. C’mon, don’t make me cry.
I mean, you know how it goes especially if you’re a Nigerian.
Look at those who run the government. Look at your president.
Besides, I’ve seen people with integrity die really poor.
So again, it’s not these things.
Err..Before I tell you what it is, I must first tell you this story.
The story that led up to why I asked you that question in the beginning.
I had just got off a long phone call with my older brother.
He called, which is quite unusual. Normally, my elder brother only calls me for two reasons.
Either he wants to confirm something. Or he has some very important information to pass.
Stay with me
I’m taking you somewhere.
There was a Sunday evening some 18 months ago.
We were all in the living room having some random talk about life in general.
Me, My older brother and his pretty wife.
I had mentioned that the next agenda in my life right now is to get out of this shithole called Nigeria.
We argued.
My mouth couldn’t hold back how much I hated it here.
But my brother bellowed in a louder voice.
He says why leave his business behind to go start fresh in another ‘man’s land’ (like the USA)?
On hearing this I became so mad. And I mean no disrespect here but damn, if he had been one of my peers or close friends…
…I would have said some really unpleasant, ugly things to him out of my frustration.
No, seriously, I’m being honest here.
Because how could he be that stubborn toward the issue?
But then, he was my older brother. So I just burned in silence.
Now guess what the call earlier on was about?
He says, “…if you have an opportunity to leave, please do that now. I’m tired of this country, brooo I want to go and dust my passport.”
I could hear the frustration in the biting tone of his voice.
He would later send a whatsapp voice note that was 14mins long.
In my heart while I listened to it, I began to gloat.
“…I told ya but you were arguing the other time. So now, you see that I was right all along.”
But that’s not even the point.
The point isn’t about scramming out of the country.
The point is…
A new Burning DESIRE had been triggered in my brother to live a much better life than he was currently living.
It took wallowing for long in the pain of his current situation before he finally made up his ming.
Smh.
Now back to the question…
The answer is how their Belief System functions.
Don’t worry, I’ll explain.
But first…
Ah yes, that’s me, the weird guy.
Well, there’s a reason you’ve probably not heard about me.
First off.
I’m not your regular, loud gooroo who dresses up in a fancy suit on Facebook.
There’s no fancy pic of me standing beside an expensive Lekki Property.
I don’t even have a very fat, seksy bank account balance to show off with.
Or a very large social media following (to brag about). And well, i love a Lamborgini Urus, that’s my typa sport car but I don’t own one yet.
Seriously…
I’m just a regular guy (like you) who has always had a big-ass dream.
I graduated from University with a First Class but never went back to pick up my certificate.
Yeah, it sounds both crazy and shocking. I know. Lol
To think that most people believe the reason why alot of folks go into business is because they can’t get a job with their school certificates.
But that wasn’t my case.
With the kind of result I had and the little connection my dad had access to, I could have easily gotten an employment in a good company.
What’s crazier is the fact that, two “jobless” years after (Living with my parents at the time) I still wasn’t motivated enough to go back to pick it up.
Because deep down…
I was convinced that I had a chance at getting a better life which a mere piece of paper can’t exactly give to me.
Don’t get me wrong. School is good, a 9-5 is cool but bruh…
I had a waaay bigger dream. I had a Burning Desire for a life that a 9-5 can’t give me in a short period of time.
But my parents wouldn’t understand.
To them, I was just being a lazy, ambition-less ‘yoot’ enjoying the comfort of living with a loving parent.
After all, they provided me with a roof over my head for FREE.
Got the food for FREE. However, these ‘free things’ came with some extras.
It came with the long, boring sermon from Dad every morning.
He was always reminding me of “my mates” who were doing better than I am.
You know, the kind of sermon you will hear… you wouldn’t want to come out of your room for days.
Or even eat
Or see your pretty girlfriend for a while.
His words were heavy and so ego-piercing. They cut really deep into me.
Sometimes he would compare me to a friend of mine who got a big business running and got married all in one year.
To crown it all.
The Dude bought a 2018 model Benz too.
My dad says we are age mates. Why can’t I be like him or do better?
The truth is…
DISAPPOINTED too.
And I wouldn’t blame them anyway.
It wasn’t their fault.
For over 35 years, my dad retired from the bank as a manager. A very big job at the time but to date, there is nothing to show for it.
No single savings.
No single landed property.
No standing business.
Back then when he lost his job, it was really gruesome.
Hold on.
I think I now realize why my dad was giving me his early morning sermons.
He was speaking from the position of a man who once lost the ability to provide for his family.
It’s a torturing feeling.
That moment when you feel ‘worthless’. Nobody sees you or gives you the respect you deserve.
He didn’t want me to end up like that.
But back to the topic.
What Does The Rich Really Have Over The Poor?
The REAL, core difference between the Rich and the Poor is…
Ah, yes.
You see, the rich have this ability to believe things and take actions fast, unlike the poor.
They don’t involve their ego when it comes to sound judgement.
They also don’t fall in love unnecessarily.
Like my brother who fell in love with Nigeria and it took him painful 18 months to change his mind after the bad argument we had.
The rich are instant to make decisions. Unlike the poor who has to think, procrastinate and SUFFER first before they make up their minds.
This is the difference my friend.
The poor wait to experience intense pain before they take a decision, the rich don’t.
But you know what?
This is how almost everybody is wired these days.
I mean…
This is how people make bad electoral choices.
This is how they voted for boohari a second time. And voted for Tinubu again this year.
Why?
Because they need to suffer some more to have sense. Lol.
And heaven supports this principle too…
Psalm 107:17 “Some became fools through their rebellious ways and suffered affliction…”
The bible. Not me, said that.
If your situation doesn’t change this year, then this is probably the obvious answer.
You’ve not suffered enough.
Shikena.
It is as simple as that.
It just shows that you can still endure the whole pain. And you love it down there!
But I could prolly be wrong about you.
And this my friend, brings me to this question…
Now if you are tired of living on survival mode…
If you’re tired of it all, living from hand to mouth but you still have a little faith in yourself, then I have an offer for you.
An offer you would love.
Listen my friend, I want to help you change your situation this year.
I’m about to launch a new coaching program.
In it i’m gonna show you how to create a life where you don’t have to keep begging folks you do not want to for help.
A life where you don’t have to trade your dignity and peace of mind.
A life where you don’t have to kiss somebody’s ass to get their attention in their DM.
A life where you have the power to be in total control of your life to do anything you want without being questioned… I’m talking about freedom baby, freeeedom.
